Christmas 2008

Merry Christmas to all !
We spent Christmas Eve with Dubb's Family we had lots of good food and palyed Wii all nite long. We even got dubb's Dad to play Baseball on the Wii.
We got a Wii Fit from Buddy,Deb and the kids ohhhh how We need that!

2009 is gonna be FITNESS FEVER right Dubb?

We also got gift cards from Dubb's Dad so now we need to go shopping.

Boy did it snow. We woke up to 6 inches or so of snow. We went to Dad's & Carol's for Christmas Day. I got a Cricut from Dubb. Willow Tree Navitity, Williams Sonoma pans, VS Perfume and the cutest flower necklace.(thanks Kyle and Jani
for picking it out )

Kyle and Kolt got "doodleBugs" from Grandpa and Grandma. It was snowing so hard but the boys wanted to ride them so they bundled up and braved the snow!

We then went over to my sister's and played Wii. They finally got a Wii..yippppeee !!! They let "smokie" come inside and she snuggled in her blanket.

Christmas was too much for Grandpa and Grandma zzzzzz is all we heard.

We are so lucky to have Awesome family's and great memory's to share.

Petersen Inc Christams Party 2008

We were so Lucky to go to Dubb's Christams Party for work. They had the Bar J Wranglers perform. They are so awesome and even had Babe their Father who started the Bar J 31 years ago sing with them it was a treat to hear the Wranglers sing. We have seen them perform at their Ranch in Jackson Hole Wyoming and it's so funny.. even Granny was dressed in holiday fashion and she performed too! There was alot of toe tapping and heads bobbing last nite.

Temple Square 2008

We took the YW and YM to Temple square it was so beautiful. There were tons of people and it was freezing but it was so worth it. We listened to a choir from Spanish Fork in the Assembly Hall it was nice and warm and they sang so beautiful. I just love Christmas at Temple Square it really gives you the reason to celebrate the season!

Christmas Tree 2008

I got tagged by my sister so here is the Christmas Tree for 2008. I have a ton of different ornaments that are pretty special to me and I love the white lights. Dubb is the garland master he is a perfectist so he has to MEASURE the loops what a FREAK I'm married too. But I have to say way to go "poodle" it looks great!

YW Christmas Party 2008

We had our Young Women's Christmas Party it was tons of fun!! We played a marshmallow's snowman game the girls had to find a partner and blind fold her and tell her how to make a snowman and then they had to stuff all the marshmallow's in their partner's mouth. Of course the Laurels Mckenna and Katelynn won...way to go Girls!! We played Charades and the Leaders team "the Smarties" won...wooooohooooo !!! Aniedi won the prize for the most festive. These girls are so much fun and I'm lucky to have Great Leaders that love the girls as much as I do. Merry Christmas Girls oxoxoxo dawni

New Background

OK .....I know your thinkin it's about time she got with the program and updated her background.. but man there was so much to choose from. So I gave it a whirl and this is the new Christmas update !

Christmas is comming

Christmas is around the corner. So I made some table runners. The top runner was so fun to make. I loved all the colors.. Cute... cute...
I'm asking Santa for a Willow Tree Nativity so I made the bottom runner to set it on (hopefully crossing my fingers) Santa I hope your listening to me !!!!

Pumpkin Carving 2008

The Annual Pumpkin Carving at Grandpa and Grandma's . We have a tradtion that we carve pumpkins for Halloween. We had a Pizza Party and then carved Pumpkins. Kolt had Dubb help him carve his pumpkin he picked a Black Widow Spider and Dubb had his work cut out for him. Kolt would jump up and down and say "My pumpkin is almost done" as Dubb did all the work. Kyle picked a awesome cat to carve so Shawn helped him carve that out. Grandma make a funny face and she called her pumpkin "jack o Fong" look at his cute eyes!! I got to take all the fun pic's for the blog. HAPPY HALLOWEEN :)

Halloween Carnival 2008

Tonight we had our Ward Halloween Carnival. Dubb suprised me and came to have some fun! It was fun to see all the cute kids all dressed up. The Actvities Committee asked the Young Women to help make a fish pond for the kids. So I made the Curtain and we hung it from a blackboard. The kids were all lined up as soon as they saw us setting up the curtain. We had good food and lots of laughs!!

Praire Points

Miss Jan told me about this cute little quilt shop in bountiful called Quilter's Haven so I just had to take a peek and see what cute things they had. I went into it and almost bought the store! I got 3 new table runner patterns. I made "PRAIRE POINTS" for my first time and it was so FUN!!! I just love the moda charm packs they have all the matching fabric and you can't go wrong!Just sew until your hearts content :)

Birthday Money !!

I got money for my birthday so I made fall table runners. I had Ruth machine quilt it and look at the cute pumpkins and fall leaves she is amazing! I had lots of help on my corners from Jan and Pam. I was using really "puffy" batting and it made it so hard to make the corners. I used "Warm and Natural batting this time and it made a HUGE difference it was a piece of cake to make the corners all cute. I used my decorative stitches on my machine to machine quilt on my smaller runner and it's not too bad.

As I finshed this craft for Thanksgiving. I realized how thankful I am for all the things in my life.

Girls Craft Day !!!

Me and my friend from work Kim had a girls craft day...

Dubb was the carpenter

The girl's did all the cute crafty stuff after we stole the craft idea from Marilyn at work.

We started looking for scrapbook paper at Michael's booooring but they had cute embellishments so it wasn't a total wash.

Then we proceeded to Joann's and nothing. Me and Kim were thinking "Man how hard could it be to find scrapbook paper in UTAH of all places".

We hit the jackpot at Ben Franklin's ....

Totally cute stuff I got most of my paper there.

This is my cute results it was so FUN to craft with Miss Kim!

Oh My Scraps !!

I had tons of scraps left over from my trick or treat table runner. So I made these cute placemats for Halloweeenie ! I think each thing I try to quilt is getting a teeeny bit better with each project. Maybe one day I will be a quilting bee after all!!

Utah State Fair 2008

We had a "redneck" date at the Utah State Fair... We went to the Diesel Pulls and watched our friend Ken Jones and his 1941 Dodge "Wild Diesel" pull. Ken almost had a full pull. We all had matching "Wild Diesel" shirts on and cheered Ken on!
I walked thru the Fair and saw some beautiful quilts and lots of fun ideas.

In loving memory

This was Miss Saddie. She went everywhere with us. We had her for 8 great years. We had to put her to sleep in July 08 due to cushing disease. It was the saddest day of our lives.

Trick or Treat

I think I'm turning into a quilter wannabe who wants to quilt everything. This is my latest quilting attempt a cute halloween table runner. I was so proud of myself I only had to unpick the "dang" thing a billion times but I finshed it in 1 day.......wooooohoooo (doing the happy dance) heheheheh

My First Quilt

I finally mastered the quilting thing. I was so scared to try to attempt to quilt but I thought what the HECK give it a whirl and I have to say "look how cute it is" I have to thank all my quilting gals at work Jan, Pam, Laurie, Marilyn you gals are a hard act to follow thanks a bunch for all the encouragement. Kim your the "best" thanks for helping me pick out the fabric. But lastly a HUGE thank you to my new machine quilting lady Ruth without your cute ideas this quilt would have looked awful. I think the quilting BUG has bitten watch out world I have a sewing machine and I know how to use it!

I DID IT

I made a slide show of us ...wooooo hoooo! I'm becoming a HUGE computer NERD... I just can't stand it. Watch out Bill Gates I'm taking over... heheheh
