DECLINED ......

So Christmas was AWESOME !! Dubb and I scored when it came to restaurant gift cards, I was thinking wooohoooo I can dine out for a week straight and don't have to cook. So Tonight I said to Dubb let's cash one of those baby's in and dine out. So off to Chilli's we went it was PACKED and we finally got a table and made our yummy choices. We stuffed ourselves and handed over the GIFT CARD then i heard the MAGIC words DECLINED .....WTC I was so dang upset. Needless to say the waitress said "OH it's DECLINED you can call the number on the back of the card to find out WHY??? So after I emptied my purse and DUG out the $$$$$ I wasn't expecting to pay. I got home and called 1-800 to get this CHEERFUL little message we are out of the OFFICE until JANUARY 4, 2011. GREAT I have to wait until the new year to call and see if MY nifty Christmas gift is BOGUS or not. GOOD TIMES ......NOT!

The LOVE Shack .....

It's done and we both survived the MESS and  are still here to tell about it.This home improvement was a nightmare. We spent the first 2 weeks sleeping on a air mattress. It was like camping in the living room. It seemed like everything we did we would hit a roadblock. First the primer ran down the walls because our room was too cold. Dubb had to sand the walls and re-paint I wanted 2 tone paint so it took Dubb 6 hours of masking off the ceiling, windows, closet. He painted the first coat of paint, we took heat lamps and cranked the heat up just so the paint would not run like the primer did. Success it didn't run! Happy dance ! Dubb has worked so hard on the remodel. We only had the weekends to do it because he was working tons of overtime.I'm one lucky gal Dubb would do every tiny detail I wanted and would not complain too loud! Here are the final pictures. I still have to decorate the walls. But at least we have our "love shack" back!

This is my bestie Kim not only is she my co worker she is a AWESOME friend. We started the weightloss struggle together and she has been amazing. She has lost weight and gained a sassy personality. I'm so proud of her and all the struggles we face when it comes to weightloss.

My baby Cooper is 1! He has a mind of his own. He is suppose to be "my dog" but loves dubb better than me (sniff sniff) He will howl to the top of his lungs when Dubb leaves out of his sight. He likes to give me kisses on the nose before I go to work.

My only complaint about Coop is he still wants to eat his POOP then give you a kiss uuuggghhhh

And the remodel begins.....

Last week I was very NAUGHTY! I decided that I can be a DIYer all by myself. I decided I hated the flower wallpaper in my bedroom and wanted a change. So I started to rip off the UGLY stuff and oopsey the wall CAVED in yes CAVED in. My house is 100+ years old and so are the walls, needless to say Dubb was not a happy guy. He just looked at the mess and said "NOW WHAT" as I giggled and said HUNNY BUNNY we get to REMODEL. He was not amused. So we started to rip all the carpet and base boards off. We have sheet rocked and sanded. I can hardly stand it I'm so PUMPED for the new look. But my achy body is not I've used muscles I didn't know I had to help get the room ready for it's new look. Sorry I don't have any BEFORE pic's but I promise the after.

Update .....

We have a new door so hopefully the "jerks" that broke in will never be able to again.

I'm down another 3 lbs. I can't I have lost will all the STRESS we have had!

I have done lots of crafts but UNFORTUNATELY. I don't own a camera anymore to take pictures. 

Thanks alot "jerks who robbed me"  grrrrrrrr!!

Maybe one day I will be able to replace all my stuff.

Our worst fear have came true on Thurs...

I got a call on Thurs from Dubb at work. Our worst fears were confirmed. We had been ROBBED, yes that's right robbed. The "jerks" took a crowbar to our back door and got in my house and took $4000.00 dollars worth of stuff. My heart is sick I have lived in my house for 24 years and have never been scared, but now I feel so different. I'm having a hard time trusting anyone that I see. I'm just glad the "jerks" didn't hurt my little Cooper. Things can be replaced but it just stinks that people have to STEAL. So now my blog is private and I'm not going to have the comments on for a bit. Maybe when our lives get back to normal I will change my feelings about being "private" and having comments. -Dawni

I walk away from my desk and look what happens.....

Today was a pretty normal day work... work....until I got a phone call from my boss Laurie to come to her office for a meeting. I'm on the Birthday Committee so when I got the call it was "no biggie". Little did I know there was going to be something happening to my desk as I was in the meeting. My Sister and her "little monster's" came and Boo'ed my desk. She was so sneaky she called my co-worker Kim and asked her to take me away from my desk. Kim ran into Laurie's office and said what can we do? Laurie said take her down to the Cafe for lunch. Kim said we ate popcorn and snickers sshhh don't tell for lunch she won't go down stairs. So Laurie called me into a meeting. As I sat there Laurie was throwing out dates and I said wait I have to go get my calendar, as I came back to my desk they were freaking out because my "sis and crew" were getting ready to start the mischief. We planned the Birthday Extravaganza and I walked back to my office and this is what I found.

My sister made a cute plaque that said " Home of The Wicked Witch and her little Monster Cooper. She gave Coop and bowl of dog food, Dubb a bowl of Snickers and I got a bowl with a apple and Carmel. I got a Spooky wall hanging, cup that says "venom" and a hot pad .They had so such fun making my desk a happy Halloween spot. I'm so lucky to have awesome family that makes me feel so loved. I love ya Sista and monsters aka Kyle and Kolt like a fat gal loves CANDY!

Fitness Fever

I went to my yearly GYN visit and I have to say I was pretty pumped to go "only because I've lost weight" since last year. In fact I've lost 10 points from my BMI. 10 POINTS  I got a huge high 5 from my Doctor. YEAHHHHHH for me !!!!-Dawni

I Love them. I have so many Halloween Decorations when I ask Dubb to bring up all the totes he just shakes his head. Fun Friday Crafts/Cyst Removal

Last Friday I was being crafty and cutting wood with my scroll saw and "Yes I was wearing safety glass" but my eyes were all goopy after. So on Monday I went to my Eye Doc and he said my eye was irritated and that I had a cyst that was filled with liquid and that the only way to get rid of it was to have it cut off. uuggh now if this was DUBB no worries he has had stuff dug outta his eye way to many times to count. I was a little freaked I'm not gonna lie. So I went in today and it the Doctor put numbing drops in my eye and then took tweezers and scissors and pulled up the cyst and snipped it off. Poof it was a piece of cake. NO worries. I came home and took a long nap to rest my peepers and then it was time to CRAFT BABY. I made this cute little Sun glass holder (perfect dontcha think) for what I went thru today!

What a Women Wants ????

Shopping baby.... My Sista and I went to the http://www.whatawomanwantsshow.com/ show at the South Towne Center today. We shopped our guts out, then it was off for some lunch at http://www.fiveguys.com/home.aspx it was the BEST burger and fries ever. Then we hit the South Towne Mall and of course shopped some more! On your way home we just had to have a hot fudge sundae at Dairy Queen. As we drove home things got a little exciting. We got to Layton and of course the good ol "orange barrel" nightmare. We saw a UHP and he hits his lights on so no panic he was in front of us. We drove a little farther and RED LIGHTS were flashing ok PANIC it was us he was pulling over.

So me and my SISTA decided we would try a new workout "ZUMBA" it nearly killed us! We are so not with the "dancing moves kinda gals" we stood there like a duck outta water! Let's just say I will be puttin my sweatband to rest and prolly won't be doing the ZUMBA anytime soon!

2 WILD ????

2 Wild Diesel Utah State Fair 2010

Our Friends from Wild Diesel won at the Utah State Fair. This has been a 2yr process for Ken and Crew. Dubb went with Ken to Indiana for a HUGE Truck Pull last year. They looked at the trucks and got tons of ideas on how "2 Wild Diesel" would take form. All thru the winter and spring this has been a huge project and TOP SECRET ya know?? They built the truck from the ground up. Dubb was so happy to weld and help design the frame for Ken. Needless to say it was so worth it last night when Ken WON !!!

I couldn't be prouder of the hard work these guys put into the truck it's amazing. I would go to the shop and see the process and think WHOA this is pretty cool. I know most women would think big deal but it was so cool to see the piles of metal turn into this AWESOME beast. Ken's Daughter came up with the design of the Tiger made out of bolts, wrenches, it was perfect.

I don't think you can wipe the smile off of his face it was priceless.

My 1st Crafty Tutorial

I just love to craft if you haven't noticed on my blog. I love to look at blogs that have tutorials and see how they make the cute craft stuff they make. I stole  I mean borrowed this idea from http://eighteen25.blogspot.com/ and just added my own flair.

Supplies you will need:

Frames I used wood $1.00 at Michael's

letters

Paint - paint brush

Scrap book paper

Modge podge

glitter

Paper plate

Hot Glue Gun

I first painted my frames black and my letter's purple. After the black paint was dried I added the green poka dots.

I then took the back piece of the frame that holds your picture in the frame and covered it in scrapbook paper.

I sprinkled my glitter on the plate

I have always have a hard time getting the glitter to stick to any things I did, so I took Mod Poge and painted the letters and then I layed the letter in the glitter.

TADAAAA. I love my glitter letters and all the glitter stuck on so good!

When the paint was all dry on the frames I took my palm sander and roughed them up. I love the worn out look.

Then it was time to assemble the frames together.

I hot glued the letters on the paper and then put them in the frames.

Dontcha just love them?

I double dog dare ya to make a set!

Day 4

It's our 24th Wedding Anniversary wow time flys when your married to a hunkofburninglove like Dubb!
We just relaxed and I was crafty and made cards while Dubb playing Wii and watched football it was great to just hang out together.

After dinner we went for a drive to Chesterfield Idaho it's a ghost town.http://chesterfieldfoundation.org/ Here are a few pictures of Chesterfield Township it's amazing to me that the Mormon Pionners settled this Township in 1881.It's listed on the National Register of Historic places.It's located on the Oregon Trail.Those Mormon Pioneers made such a cool town when there wasn't much there. The history was so cool, if only we could go back in time and really experience that way of life.

Day 2 and Day 3 Vacation

Day 2- The weather was still cold and dark skys so we had a chill day and watched dvd's. We got a call from Dad and Carol they decided to come and camp with us. We hung out and waited for them to get here. Then we went down to Lava Hot Pools http://www.lavahotsprings.com/ it was still chilly so the hot water felt so good, then it was back to camp for Strawberry shortcake I just love camping and all the yummy food we eat.

Day 3- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME  it's my birthday YIPPPPEeeeeee I love Birthdays but only cuz I get spoiled rotten. Dubb woke me up with my present in bed

 
My own TOOL BAG that's right MINE all MINE and if he touches my TOOLS I will have to hurt him! Dad and Carol got me the cake and card with $$$ in it. I feel a shopping day comming on!
We headed up to the fair and walked thru all the stuff. I have to say I was having a tough time with all the "Fair Food" there was fried Oreo's, catfish, elephant ears, but I just had to try the "fried Snickers"

It was pretty dang YUMMY and worth all the calories. I would have to say thumbs up on the fried snickers!
Dubb is going to cook my fav dinner STEAK. ohhhh how I love to camp!

Day one of Vacation

As we got to the ticket window and I was going to pay this guy grabbed Dubb and said NO ANIMALS allowed.We were rejected at the fair. I tried to explain that we had traveled all the way from UTAH but no go. So we left and went to Jackson Hole one of my favorite places to go.

Swiss Days 2010

I have heard how awesome "Swiss Days" in Midway Utah is so I had to find out for myself.

I had a ultimate tour guide my sista and the best shopping companion Kim. We headed to Midway to shop till we dropped!

As we got closer to Midway the traffic started to keep up, I was thinking Wow this must be a big deal. We got to the shuttle lot, Yes the shuttle lot they bus you to the little town. When we got to town square this is what we saw

I loved all the cute "swiss" looking buildings.

As we started down thru the crowds you could hear the yodeling music you just want to do a little jig!

This was only a small crowd we were packed like sardines. All for the love of shopping!

I saw a few people that I knew. I always think that's weird you go to somewhere you have never been before and a familiar face.

I could have spent so much money, but "checkbooknatz" aka Dubb put a kibosh on that. I got a cute necklace as a reminder of Swiss days.

Crafty Days Part 2

I wanted to make something from burlap so I got some burlap at wally world and it stunk so bad really chemical. I threw it in the stink and proceeded to wash the stink out .....WRONG it shredded and still smelled. So I threw it in the dryer with "downey" dryer softener sheets. NO Go still stinks. I then just decided to stuck it up and craft and here is my latest crafty endeavour!

Crafty Weekend

I've been busy getting all of my craft projects done so I can start to craft for Halloween!

Gram's wooden stool

This was my grandma's stool I remember sitting at my kitchen counter and helping make cookies, wash dishes or what ever my grandma was doing. I love all the paint colors I remember all of the different kitchen colors she had painted over the years. It has screws that she has added to the legs to make them steady. Dubb doesn't think it looks like it's done but I love all the specks of paint all I did was put stain over it to make it look older. LOVE IT !!!

 I wanted to make a ruffle table runner to set all my holiday blocks on. I made this out of muslin I tea-stained it to make it look old. I was worried that the ruffles would be hard to do. They were so easy I think I will be making a lot more ruffles.
