Maine 2014

We made the trip back to Maine to lay Dubb's Dad to rest. He was buried in Prospect Harbor Maine a small Fishing Village. It was quite a beautiful day for the services.

As we prepared for the trip we were informed that we would be responsible to dig Alonzo's grave. I thought for sure they were joking, but unfortunately they were serious. Dubb and his brother Buddy did a awesome job digging the grave with one small problem. There was a bit of confusing on where to dig as they dug they hit what they thought was a rock.....But it wasn't just a rock it was their Mother Evelyn's urn. Wayne was freaking out that he dig up his Mother. Good thing Buddy's wife Debbie was there to cover Evelyn back up.

The services were beautiful they had Military honors and did a flag presentation and then played taps it was very moving to see the Military in action that way.

After the Services Dubb's cousins had a HUGE  Cook out. They boiled Lobster and clams. We were able to have a great time with all the extended family. Dubb meet his nephew Glenn from his half brother that passed away and Dubb had never met. It was awesome to get to meet so much family.

The next day we drove over to Bar Harbor to do a little shopping. The harbor was filled with boats and the day was nice and cool with a slight breeze from the ocean. Amazing views all around us.

Every time we go to Bar Harbor we see a Yacht and this time it didn't disappoint. I would love to go on board for a peek one day.

Dubb wanted to go grave searching to see his family that had passed before, after walking thru the whole cemetery we found his family.

Heaven Received another Angel

Our hearts are a bit empty this past week. Alonzo C Willey Sr. passed away on April 15th from Lung Cancer. Wayne was able to make the trip back to Maine to spend sometime with this Dad before he passed. This was such a blessing for Wayne to spend time, but also the hardest thing he has ever done. It was so hard for Wayne to be gone for 8 days and see the condition his Dad was in. Wayne would call me and just cry on the phone. Lon would say that he was hanging on until Wayne got to see him one last time. And that's exactly what he did.

We had the opportunity to take Lon to Yellowstone in 2009. He had lived in Utah for 25 years and had never been. He had always wanted to see the wildlife and fish and he got to do both. As we drove him thru the park he would get so excited to see the HUGE elk. This was a great vacation and to see Yellowstone thru this eyes was priceless!

I am so grateful to have Lon in my life and the wonderful son he raised.
He will be missed.
