Family Fun

My Sister's family has property up Ogden Canyon and we got to go have fun for a Sunday with them. We are lucky to get to go up to the mountains. We love it.

Here are some Pictures courtesy of My Sister I forgot my camera.

Early that morning Dubb spent a long time cleaning "his" baby. Why Men clean trucks when they know they are going in the MUD. I just don't get it. Our Nephew's met us at the gate and rode 4 wheelers up to the camp. As we drove there was another truck and Dubb pulled over to let the truck pass and sunk in the mud. He was so mad and all we did was laugh at him, he was super mad and was cussing like a SAILOR. So we laughed harder at him. He finally had to eat some humble pie and have Shawn pull him out in the Jeep.

Dubb getting pulled out by a Jeep!

We had fun playing horse shoes. Me and Dubb against Kyle and Kolt. Dubb and I won the first match.

Kyle playing with Cooper. He was happy if we let him run loose, but I was scared we wouldn't find him. He took off and we had to tie him up. He loves the investigate the outdoors.

I got a ringer. woot!! woot!!

I am thankful for family and the great times we have together.

LAS VEGAS - Hoover Dam and NFR 2013

We had our yearly vacation to Vegas this year. It was crazy weather we left  on Tuesday and it took 9 1/2 hours just to drive to St George. It usually takes us 5 hours. It was snowy and a white out this year. Too bad I didn't take any pictures of the weather, I was too scared to be distracted from the road. After we arrived in Mesquite we stayed the night there and then drove to Hoover Dam on Wednesday. It was awesome. It was crazy how they made this bridge work. We took a tour and the made us go thru security. They have to be careful that some crazy person would want to bomb the bridge.

We were under 500 feet under ground it was weird to think that the dam was on top of us and that it didn't leak too bad.

This is how they divert the water and make the power to generator 3 states.

Dubb walking thru the tunnels. It was weird how they leak just a bit. The white residue on the cave is from the dripping water.

The huge generators the water flows thru to make power.

I was amazed at all the cement and they said that it will take 100 years to cure all of the cement.

 The bridge cars drive over.

The Spill way that they can let out the water to go downstream. It was a neat tour. If you haven't been I suggest you check it out.

We headed to Las Vegas  I have always wanted to watch the fountains at Bellagio. It was pretty but   quick. They played one Christmas song and it was over. It made me mad to walk that far down the strip for 3 minutes. I expected a longer program than one song.

We love to go to the NFR. I thought my family was crazy to go every year. But now I'm hooked and I think Dubb is too. He is already planning for next year.

 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo 2013

Jumbo Tron that shows the re rides.

 Long Live Cowboys and Cowgirls

We got to go to the Rodeo for 2 nights. I was in Pure Heaven. I can hardly wait to go next year.

Family Pictures 2013

We are so lucky to have a niece that takes amazing pictures. Dubb thinks you only need family pictures done every 5 or so years. But I beg to differ. I love to have pictures of my family.
If your looking for a great photographer call Jordyn Willey here is some of her work.
Thanks Jordyn for the fun time and the beautiful pictures.

27th Anniversary

27th Anniversary. Yes, We have been married for that long It seems like yesterday that I married Dubb.
We always make sure to take time and celebrate our
Anniversary and I'm so glad that we do. This year after My Birthday in Pendleton. We stayed in Caldwell and traveled around to different places.  We first went to Idaho City. They said it was a "ghost town". So off we went. It was a fun drive and pretty up the canyon. We got to the town and I begged Dubb to get a old time picture. He finally said YES. I dragged him into the shop and here is the current Picture of us.
Dubb has upset when he saw the picture. He said, "You didn't Smile" You wanted this picture to look like a wedding picture and you didn't smile what the heck?. I told him to be serious and NOT Smile, he kept shaking his head and saying I can't believe you didn't smile. It makes me giggle every time I look at it. We looked at a few shops and Dubb loved this saying "Food has replaced sex in my life... Now I can't even get into my own pants! We giggled at all of the sayings.

We went to the Pioneer Cemetery. We loved to look at the headstones and see when and  how they died. This was a Huge Cemetery in the Mountains. But what was so interesting was that they had so many graves that were marked as Unknown. It makes me feel sad that they don't know who these people are. It was separated into groups. Catholics, Mason's and Chinese. They all had their own sections but were not marked as such.

I loved these grave markers. It reminded me of baby carriages.

This grave was marked by a wooden stake with the initials JT and that was it.

This was a one of the graves that was marked as Unknown but put into such a pretty section.

This was a Catholic grave marker. But didn't have a cross on it.

Moss covered the graves and markers. It was so pretty and green.

They had lost all of their 4 kids in one day. It makes me wonder what happened. I know everyone has a past and a story and I would love to know each time I go into any Pioneer Cemetery.

We drove over to McCall Idaho it was so pretty and Dubb and I couldn't believe how it reminded us of Bar Harbor Maine. All of the sail boats in the harbor. It was defiantly a relaxing and beautiful place.

 Boats out in the harbor

Seaside walk way. So many people were walking around and loving the beautiful weather.

So glad the only Bears we saw were the ones "bronzed". It was a great Birthday and Anniversary celebration. Thanks Dubb for the great weekend.
