(January 10, 1924 - April 26, 2012)
Marion Joan Evertsen Cashmore
As Mom would say, “Enough is enough, and too much is plenty.” She was blessed to be cared for through declining health by her sons and daughters-in-law and for the last five years by her sweet daughter—until enough was enough and her little body gave out in Athens, Texas on April 26, 2012. Born on January 10, 1924 to Marinus and Susanne Konig Evertsen in Ogden, UT, she had 88 full years.
Married to Jack Noriega with whom she had two children, later divorced. Married Wayne Cashmore on October 29, 1948 in Ogden, Utah. Later solemnized in the Ogden, Utah Temple. Kind and loving, Wayne made her tiny children his own and together they added two boys to complete the family.
A longtime resident of Weber and Davis Counties, Marion was a passionate sports fan who was, herself, an avid golfer. She was also an excellent cook who, later in life, discovered a love and talent for painting.
Survived by children Diane Noriega Hitzfeld (Richard) Athens TX; Walter Lynne Cashmore (Darlene), Virginia Beach, VA; Jay Wayne Cashmore (Susan), Layton, UT; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A lifelong member of the LDS Church, she returns home to be joyfully reunited with her parents and others who left before: husband Wayne, eldest son John Noriega (Barbara), brother Jack Evertsen, sister Maxine Evertsen Everts.

Today My family said goodbye to a Sweet Aunt. I loved to go visit Aunt Marion she always made you feel so welcome in her home. My Dad was asked to speak at her funeral and he has never EVER done any public speaking. I was so "touched" to hear all the wonderful stories my Dad had of her. She really made a in pack on my Dad's life. He was so emotional and that was hard to see and feel. But I'm glad I had the opportunity to hear the kind words and wonderful memories of her thru my Dad's eyes.. She was a FUN Cheerful Lady that no words can express how much she will be missed. Until we meet again.
