Moab 2014

My Sister and her family along with their friends invited Dubb and I to come to Moab and go Jeeping. At first I was thinking are you crazy  I would freak out to go up that "Slickrock" but I have to say I loved it. I didn't even scream as we went vertical up the hills. My17yr old  Nephew Kyle was my driver. He was AWESOME. He did so good and so did his Jeep. We had a blast. The weather was nice and we got to see so much pretty country. I was in heaven.
Shawn getting ready to climb a ledge.

The guys had to stack rock over some on the hills, They call them obstacles. I was amazed at how technical they get to climb the rocks. They would plan their attack before every climb.

Yay he made it look easy!

I loved all the red rocks. I would tell Kyle STOP so I can take a picture as we drove to the next climb.

Kyle getting ready to climb

Some of the hills they need this many "spotters" to spot the driver and tell them how to climb the rocks.

 Kyle sneaking up the trail.

Kyle getting ready to make the last big climb

Kyle would lock it in and go up the hill like it was nothing.

It would take so long to climb some on the hills. They would just creep up the hills. I was amazing.

Yay Kyle made it

This trail was called Flat Iron

I loved looking at all the holes, in the rocks they looked so cool, Makes me wonder if they were ever someone's home at some time.

Kyle was calm and cool as he drove I was so happy for that, being in the backseat I couldn't see out to know how scary the trails were.

The trails would have ledges that they climbed up just like stairs. It looked so cool to watch the Jeep's climb.

Yes we went up this STEEP hill I was a little scared, I'm not gonna lie!

Dubb and Kolt spotting the guys,

Everywhere you looked it was so pretty.

My 2 Co Pilots for the trip.

I loved all of the red rock.

I was loving all the photo "opts"

 Beautiful Mesa's

We drove by petroglyph's It was hard to get a good picture. But so cool to see.

The cactus were in bloom and everywhere.

Bill getting ready to make it thru this skinny path.

Kolt was the major photographer he would climb under the Jeep's and get the best pictures.

 Holes in the rocks.

 Flat Iron Trail

 Flat Iron Trail

Shawn took a wrong turn and we got in the river bottoms of a trail and He got STUCK. Kyle had to pull out his Dad. Kyle had a grin a mile long he can always say, "I had to pull my Dad's Jeep out in Moab"

Wayne helping Kyle with the strap to pull Shawn out.

People would wreck their Jeeps and just have to leave them. It was crazy to see all the wrecks Jeeps down the mountains. SCARY!!!!

This metal bridge was for the hikers and mountain bikers. We were on a ledge and the bridge looked so small from the ledge. Does that mean we were that high???? ughhhh !!!!

Ledge on the mountain not much room to make a driving mistake.

Ledge and HUGE drop off. Kyle did amazing job driving.

Jani was taking most of the pictures from the ground. I think she was too CHICKEN to ride in the Jeep.

Hole in the Rock

 Wild flowers in bloom

Kolt was the Co Pilot for this climb.

Kyle getting his tires in the right spot to creep up this steep hill.

Yay success again!!

We loved the swirls in the rocks. It was breath taking these pictures.

Dubb pointing to Kyle where to go up the rocks.

Shawn getting ready to make the trek up all the black spots are rubber from all the tires as they squeal up the rocks.

The La Sal Mountains with the snow on top.

 Slick Rock

We got to one obstacle and there was a HUGE crack that you had to drive up and not fall in the middle. My heart was beating a little faster with this climb. But Kyle was cool as a cucumber.

All of the Jeeps that made the climb before us.

This reminded me of a horseshoe in the rocks.

This was a STEEP as heck climb. When we went up in all you could see was the sky and nothing else. FREAKY!!!!

 Mike climbing the steep hill.

Kyle getting ready to go down the steep hill.

Dubb spotting Bill down the steep hill. Let's hope his brakes work.

All of the different Jeep's we saw on the trails.

More Caves if I was so scared of what I would find in there I would have climb up to look inside.

I thought this looked like a caveman in the rocks. I'm sure someone made him in the rocks was it was cool to see it.

Shawn taking a obstacle nice and slow

Dubb looking for rocks to stack under the tires.

They had to strap Kyle's back end of the Jeep so he wouldn't trip over this hill was so steep.

 Creeping down the rocks

 Slow and steady

 YAY he made it!!

 Looking out over the valley.

Kolt taking pictures of the underbelly of the Jeep's.

This crack was HUGE and they had to position their tires just right to make it over the crack.

Kyle getting ready his tires in position.

Dubb making sure that Kyle doesn't slide into the crack.

Tires in the air..... So SCARY!!!!

 He made it!!

It looks like a Jeep in the Mountain.

The Colorado River. It was such a great trip. We are so glad we went. Thanks Jan for inviting us.
